Ye has ruffled feathers once again. “White lives matter” is trending after the rapper wore a t-shirt with the phrase while addressing attendees at his YZY SZN 9 presentation in Paris. The controversial shirt had the Pope’s face on the front, and he wore the same bedazzled flip-flops he sported last week to complete the look. Ye made a bold statement before the show started. According to Page Six, he said, “I am Ye, and everyone here knows that I am the leader,” he said at one point, referencing his new legal name. “You can’t manage me.”
In addition, before the show, he teased some of the famous models expected to make appearances, including Kim Kardashian, ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, and Candice Swanepoel. As well as other big names like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Lauryn Hill, Naomi Campbell, Emily Ratajkowski, Gisele Bündchen, Bella Hadid and Amelia Gray Hamlin.
Ye wasn’t the only one who wore the white lives matter shirt. Candace Owens also shared a few photos of the event with the Chicago native, also wearing a white lives matter shirt.
Both posts garnered over 17,000 comments collectively. Real Housewives Of Potomac star Dr. Wendy Osefo stepped in, writing, “All skin folk ain’t kinfolk!!!” Shortly after, Ye began trending number one on Twitter. Journalist Marc Lamont Hill spoke in a series of tweets, condemning Ye’s actions.
Kanye West decision to wear a “White Lives Matter” shirt is disgusting, dangerous, and irresponsible. Some of y’all will rush to defend him. You should ask yourselves why… pic.twitter.com/YT4a6c9tKI

Why do people on the Right always jump to “free speech” when challenged for what they say? Like… NOBODY is challenging your constitutional rights. And yes, it’s absolutely dangerous. https://t.co/3bFBPX5fY3
