Whew, chile! When Airbnb parties are thrown, it’s usually a chill and fun gathering between friends, but the vibe can change when unexpected guests arrive. This was the case in North Dallas last Sunday. A viral video surfaced online showing partygoers destroying belongings inside an Airbnb, including a flat-screen TV and furniture. TSR reached out to Ken, the woman who hosted the party, to determine what caused the incident and detail what wasn’t captured on video.
Ken explained she told the partygoers, who allegedly pulled up 12 cars deep, that the party had been over for at least an hour and a half, and that they weren’t welcomed inside the home. Before the partygoers arrival, police had been called to the Airbnb, so Ken made it clear she wanted no one else inside. However, one partygoer said her friend was still inside and refused to leave the property. The partygoers proceeded to enter the house, and Ken, frustrated, repeatedly asked them to leave. Ken told TSR that she unplugged the speaker, but one of the partygoers plugged it back in. During that time, a few of the women staying in the Airbnb were having issues with some of the partygoers, and that is when the situation escalated.
Ken went upstairs briefly but was alerted that one of her friends was getting jumped, so everyone started fighting, and one of the partygoers reportedly pulled out a gun. Once the fight ended, Ken said the partygoers felt played because they drove over 40 minutes to attend the party. Eventually, the partygoers left, so Ken headed back upstairs. That’s when she heard over 20 shots ring out, which resulted in one man being shot. Currently, his status and injuries are unknown.
Authorities did arrive once again at the home and started investigating the matter, but no information about any charges is available at this time. With everything that occurred in the Airbnb, Ken walked away with no consequences because it was her friend’s name on the Airbnb reservation. It’s unclear if Ken’s friend will be responsible for damages at the home while the incident is under investigation. Still, she can no longer rent another property, as the company banned her from the website.
