A 25-year-old woman who is currently standing trial for the murder and decapitation of her lover attacked her lawyer on Tuesday. According to TMZ, the woman attacked her representative because the judge decided to delay her trial.
According to the outlet, the assault took place in a Wisconsin courtroom. The woman, who is named Taylor Schabusiness, was sitting calmly next to her lawyer, Quinn Jolly, during a competency hearing.
Jolly reportedly asked the court for an extension to give the expert witness additional time to “assess Schabusiness’ competency to stand trial.” The judge agreed to the lawyer’s request. And pushed the woman’s trial back from March 6 to May 15.
Schabusiness did not seem to be happy with the decision at all. In video footage, the woman is seen standing up and striking her lawyer with her balled fists. She attempts to get more hits in but then is tackled to the ground by a court deputy.
In additional footage, Schabusiness wrestles extensively with the deputy. And he repeatedly tells her to “stop it.” As they continue wrestling, the deputy is heard asking for assistance.
A few moments later, he and others managed to get Schabusiness sitting calmly, on the ground, in front of a door. And the group of guards repeatedly asks her if she’s been injured.
According to TMZ, the 25-year-old is accused of murdering Shad Thyrion while the two were having sex. The incident took place on February 23, 2022. And at the time, the woman was reportedly high on meth.
Schabusiness allegedly strangled Thyrion with a chain. Then, she sliced his head and genital area with a “serrated knife.” And told police officers to “have fun trying to find all of the organs” which were scattered about the crime scene.
According to The Independent, authorities discovered the man’s head “in a bucket in a basement.” It was first discovered by his mother who initially encountered the crime scene.
Schabusiness stated all of the body parts should be in the basement. Schabusiness stated there should be a foot or a leg in the minivan. Detective Graf asked Schabusiness what she did with the head, and Schabusiness stated she had put the Victim’s head in a black bucket and put a blanket over it.
Additionally, Schabusiness’s lawyer reports that the woman has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. And treated for mental health issues for most of her life.
Despite this, a court-appointed physician testified that the woman was still fit to stand trial. However, her lawyer intended to get a “secondary examination conducted,” as reported by The Independent.
According to the outlet, the 25-year-old has pleaded not guilty to first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, and sexual assault charges. In addition, the outlet reports that the woman’s lawyer, Quinn Jolly, intends to “leave the case.”
