Wiz Khalifa has been charged with illegal drug possession after the rapper lit up on stage in Romania.
Page Six reports he was performing at the Beach Please! Festival on Saturday night (July 13) when Romanian authorities escorted him from the grounds.

Wiz Khalifa reportedly had 18 grams of cannabis in his possession. The ‘Roll Up’ rapper was wearing a black vest with icy chains when he reached into his pocket and pulled out a mega joint. He took his time lighting up and then inhaling the THC in the middle of the stage. The crowd cheered in response. After Wiz exhaled the smoke, he seemingly looked at the joint in satisfaction. Although the audience loved seeing Khalifa in his element, the Romanian authorities weren’t having it. Possession of that sticky icky can land you in prison for up to 10 years in the southeastern European country. A video has been subsequently circulating on social media showing the ‘So High’ rapper being led away by Romanian police.

The international rap star was taken in for questioning early on July 14 and subsequently charged. However, Wiz was released from custody.
Khalifa took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to update his fans on what occurred. “Last night’s show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a** joint next time,” he wrote.
This is completely on-brand for the rapper, who is known for puffing everywhere he goes. Complex reports earlier this year Wiz revealed that he smoked “like 30” joints per day.
Social Media Reacts To Wiz’s Detainment
Commenters under The Shade Room’s Instagram report shared their thoughts about Wiz’s possession charge.
@dbanksnl said, “Booking Wiz and not allowing him to smoke is like telling Chris [Brown] to stand still and sing on stage.”
