What Ifz: These Celebs Popped Out In Some Of Lil’ Kim’s Most Iconic Looks

Roommates, it’s still Women’s History Month, and now is the perfect time to take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the Queen Bee, Lil’Kim’s most iconic looks — but with a twist! Kim is undeniably a style icon and has worn some of the most unique and outrageous outfits that many artists have recreated over the years. From the red carpet to music videos, you name it, Kim has done it!

You can’t mention Kim without thinking about how she always pressed the envelope at award shows. During the 1997 Soul Train’ “Lady Of Soul Awards,” Kim applied pressure when she wore a gold headpiece that was accompanied by a gold bedazzled 2 piece set with a matching skirt. What other person would fit better in that look besides Taraji P. Henson! Kim went back the next year and continued to stun fans by wearing a jeweled caged headpiece with a high-low-fitted silver dress. We gave Ashanti this look because of her snatched waist, and the Roommates were very receptive to it!

In 1999 Kim pulled off her most iconic outfits in history, which is none other than the purple jumpsuit with the seashell used as a pasty that she wore at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA)! We put Jayda Cheaves in that look, and instead of going with a wig, we gave her a modern look with an extended ponytail. Many Roommates loved it on Jayda and said she looks good in anything. Heading into the Millenium, Kim popped out at the 2000 VMAs in a red patent leather short outfit with a matching duster. Reginae Carter fit perfectly in that look, but it’s unclear if she was trolling when she commented on our post. She stepped into The Shade Room and commented, “Omg, I think yall hate me,” with several laughing emojis.

When you think about Kim’s music videos, you already know she brought the heat! In 1996 with her “Wiz” inspired music video for “Crush On You,” it was very bright and something that we have never seen before. Kim came through with different colored fur and wigs, and it was only right to give the sister duo Chloe x Halle the honor to shine with that classic look. Chloe wore the red fur 2 piece set, and Halle looked icy and unbothered in the blue fur pants look. We had to put Queen Naija in Kim’s look from the 1997 music video for “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix).” Kim looked stunning when she wore a white 2 piece set, gold belt, and had a blonde updo hairstyle. Queen Naija also stepped into The Shade Room and commented, “I’m giving Ronnie from players club.”

2001 was a look that still inspires the gworls today. When Kim made her appearance in Ray J’s music video to “Wait A Minute,” dressed in Fendi prints from head to toe, she set the tone. It was only right we gave fellow New Yorker Lala Anthony the honor to bring the heat to this look. Outside of outfits, Kim always killed the game with hairstyles and has pulled off several colors. She took hair to the next level when she added the Chanel symbol to her blue wig in 2001. Keke Palmer, who isn’t a stranger to hair colors, killed this look. Roomies, which Lil Kim outfit is your favorite?
