“We don’t see color,” they say. “But let’s boycott the mall for hiring a black Santa,” they say.
We told you guys that America’s largest mall, Mall Of America made a step in a diverse-turned-controversial direction when they hired the mall’s first ever Black Santa. For most, the news came as a victory, as (fictional) white Santa has been the default for many children across the U.S. and has finally been given some melanin. But then there are those who feel that the mall went way too far for changing Santa’s skin color.
One person wrote on Facebook:
“No…this is political correctness gone too far. Can you imagine a ‘white’ Jessie Jackson or Muhammad Ali? Of course not! Real or not, Santa Clause is of ‘white’ origin!”
Another Facebook user said, “Dumbest thing ever, affirmative action Santa. And I’m a minoge rity. Show me one black person who lives in the North Pole.”
