Patrick Mahomes‘ younger brother is under investigation for sexual assault after a video showed appears to show him grabbing the neck of a Kansas restaurant owner and forcibly kissing her several times, TMZ reports.
Jackson Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, and Super Bowl LVII champion’s brother is also accused of assaulting a waiter during that same incident, which reportedly took place on Feb. 25.
Jackson is said to have shoved a 19-year-old male waiter several times before forcibly kissing Aspen Vaughn, 40, who owns the Aspens Restaurant where the incident took place, the outlet reports.
Police didn’t immediately release a report of the incident, but confirmed “the department is still investigating” while requesting anyone with information to contact them. Vaughn added that police are currently reviewing surveillance footage.
A 49-second clip of the alleged sexual assault has already garnered over 1.2 million views as of Tuesday.
While Vaughn says she believes Jackson was intoxicated, he nonetheless crossed a line when he grabbed her neck and forcibly kissed her twice,
She says she made it clear to him that his advances were unwanted, yet he persisted regardless.
Just hours beforehand, one of Vaughn’s wait staff alleges Jackson shoved him out of private room where he and his entourage were dining in, as the employee smelled weed being smoked.
Jackson reportedly is a regular at the establishment, and even knows the owner’s step-daughter, according to Vaughn.
Vaughn added that her husband eventually was able to kick Jackson and his crew out of the restaurant following the reported forcible kiss. They then called the police after the group finally left.
Meanwhile, authorities remained tight-lipped on the matter, telling The Kansas City Star that it would be “inappropriate” to release any additional information at this time.
“Releasing any additional information would be inappropriate at this time,” police said according to The Kansas City Star. “Anyone with information should contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.”
Jackson’s attorney, Brandan Davis, maintains his client did not do anything wrong, nor did he break any laws, and said they have reached out to law enforcement to provide evidence contradictory to the restaurant’s claims.
“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses,” Davies told The Kansas City Star. “We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
The Kansas City Star reports that Jackson is currently only under investigation for the alleged sexual assault of the female owner, and not for the alleged assault of the waiter.
Vaughn is reportedly cooperating with police as they conduct their investigation into the matter.
