VP Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton released statements following Joe Biden’s decision to leave the presidential race.
The leaders took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to big up the President for his service to America.

Kamala Harris, Barack Obama & Bill Clinton Release Statements After Biden Stepped Down
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Joe has made the decision to give up the ticket, and fellow Democrats are lifting him via public messages. Harris thanked Joe for his “extraordinary leadership” and “decades of service to our country.” Furthermore, the 59-year-old is “honored to have the President’s endorsement.” She declared she would “earn and win [the] nomination.” Kamala took a quick trip down memory lane, sharing she met Joe through his son, Beau. They became acquainted as they were both “Attorney Generals of their home states.” The VP stated that the President lived up to the heartwarming stories that Beau shared about his father. Kamala described him as a man of “integrity.” She vowed to “do everything in [her] power to unite the Democratic party” and ultimately “defeat Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”
Additionally, former president and Joe’s “dear friend” Barack Obama referred to him as “a patriot of the highest order.” The Honolulu native stated that he chose Biden, who is currently suffering from COVID, as his VP because of his “remarkable career in public service.” Furthermore, he admired Joe’s “deep empathy” and “hard-earned resilience.” Moreover, he stated that he admirably led America out of “four years of chaos” created by Donald Trump. Barack ended by sharing that he and his wife Michelle loved Joe and First Lady Jill Biden and were grateful for their “commitment” to “freedom.”
Bill Clinton also shared his thoughts on President Biden’s decision. In his statement, the 77-year-old said, “He has advanced our founder’s charge to make a more perfect union.” Clinton added, “Now is the time to support Kamala Harris and fight with everything we’ve got to elect her.” He contends, “America’s future depends on it.”
Joe is getting a lot of love. Hopefully, it will help him heal quickly from his COVID-19 diagnosis.
