Virginia-based rapper, Zoo, says he wanted a smile like Morris Chestnut’s. So, he decided to get composite veneers from a local business called Essential Grillz. Unfortunately, instead of walking out with a Hollywood smile, he claims business owner Essence Martin installed yellow-stained veneers that reminded him of “Red Lobster cheddar biscuits.”
In a “TSR Investigates,” exclusive reporter Justin Carter attempts to get to the bottom of Zoo’s dilemma and allows Essence to share her explanation. The two parties gave their take on the situation, with Martin defending her work. Zoo told Justin Carter that he was in disbelief at how awful a job he received as soon as he looked into a mirror.
“I smiled, ‘oh my God, bruh…I f**ked up.’ I didn’t know veneers came in different colors; Just thought it was gonna be Morris Chestnut. Straight white. That’s all I saw on her page. She just took matters into her own hands. Who does that? Who goes into a place like let me get the pre-stained veneers?”
On the other hand, Essence said Zoo got the work he paid for. She also explained that his teeth were “brown” and “yellow” stained before he came to her with his business.
Is Zoo to blame for having unrealistic expectations, or is Essence Martin ruining veneers in these streets?
