What in the world!? Health is nothing to play with, but some people have to unfortunately learn that the hard way. An international factory in Vietnam has been caught doing the unthinkable.
According to the Vietnam Insider, Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc, 32, was caught allegedly washing and reselling more than 320,000 used condoms and passing them off as new and unused. Police uncovered the operation after a raid of the facility in Tan Uyen Town.
Not only did Pham reportedly clean and reshape the used condoms, but Pham is also accused of remolding the condoms so they would appear with a wooden shaft, and even placed them in brand new packaging. Vietnam officials confirmed that during the raid this past Saturday, police confiscated nearly 324,000 used condoms. Thousands of used condoms had already been sold to unsuspecting customers.
Every year, Vietnamese people use 500-600 million condoms, according to statistics. Condoms are classified as medical items, so we will take a look at the several laws that the owner has broken,” stated by a government official. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise that washing and reusing condoms can lead to disease and infection.
