(Video) Kim Kardashian Responds To Claims That She Ruined Marilyn Monroe’s Dress

Earlier this month, allegations swirled online about Kim Kardashian and the Marilyn Monroe dress she wore to this year’s Met Gala. Online gossip stated she ruined the dress and that the crystals were dangling from the dress. In a recent conversation with the “Today” show, she finally responds.

On Tuesday, Kim addressed the claims and stated they were not true. While going into detail, she explained the process of putting on on the dress.

It was such a process. I showed up to the red carpet in a robe and slippers, and I put the dress on on the bottom of the carpet, went up the stairs. I probably had it on for three minutes, four minutes, and then I changed right at the top of the stairs.

Answering the question about damaging the dress, she responded and said:

No, and Ripley’s, we worked together so well. There were handlers in gloves that put it on me.

Most recently, Ripley’s spoke out in Kim’s defense and stated she didn’t ruin the dress, TMZ reports. The museum purchased the dress back in 2016 for $4.8 million, and said:

A report written on the dress’s condition in early 2017 states, a number of the seams are pulled and worn. This is not surprising given how delicate the material is. There is puckering at the back by the hooks and eyes,’ among other instances of damage.

Amanda Joiner,  who is Ripley’s VP of Publishing and Licensing, was with Kim the night of the Met Gala and said:

From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in.

Roomies, what do you think of this?
