Roommates, almost two months after officially terminating its relationship with Nick Cannon, ViacomCBS is reportedly open to renewing a working relationship with him. According to recent reports, ViacomCBS is said to be “hopeful” to work with Nick Cannon again in the future following a very public falling out.
@Variety reports, ViacomCBS has no hard feelings against Nick Cannon—and is reportedly open to working together again following the recent end of their almost 30-year partnership. During a recent town hall meeting with employees, Chris McCarthy, President of Entertainment and Youth Brands at ViacomCBS, praised work that Nick claims to have done to make amends for his controversial comments and gain a better understanding of why they were perceived as offensive and anti-Semitic.
McCarthy described himself as “hopeful” that ViacomCBS and Nick would find a way to rebuild their partnership. An inside source also revealed that McCarthy and Nick have spoken within the last few weeks—but added that there is currently no plan at the moment for Nick to resume working with the company again.
Speaking about Nick after being asked a question, McCarthy said, “I struggle with the fact that Nick, a longtime partner and friend of ours, is on this journey and we’re not part of that journey.”
He continued, while talking about the media company’s ability to connect storytelling and important social issues, “I am hopeful we find a way to bring these two things together and hopefully we will have the opportunity to do that with Nick again.”
As we previously reported, Nick Cannon was fired by ViacomCBS following his controversial comments about white people and the Jewish community on a podcast.
