Remember VH1’s annual award ceremony Hip Hop Honors? Each year the network gathered hip-hop pioneers and honored them for their contributions to the genre of music.
Now the award ceremony will make it’s return after a six-year hiatus and this time they will place their focus on the women who paved the way.
In an official statement released to the Associated Press, the network confirms that the show will air live from New York City on July 11th. So far no honorees have been announced, but they definitely focusing on the women who have been “trailblazers and trend-setters” within the game.
Past honorees include, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Salt-N-Peppa, MC Lyte and a host of others.
