Roommates Vanessa Bryant and her mother Sofia Laine have settled a lawsuit that was filed last year. If you recall, Sofia was suing her daughter for $5 million after she made several claims against her daughter. Sofia claimed that Vanessa kicked her out of her home, took her car, and stopped paying her rent at her gated apartment complex. In addition, Sofia alleged that Kobe promised to take care of her for the rest of her life. However, Vanessa denied all of her mother’s claims.
When the lawsuit first became public knowledge, Vanessa responded to the allegations in a lengthy Instagram post. Vanessa called out her mother for attempting to extort her family during a very painful time as she was mourning the loss of her husband and daughter, Gianna. “My mother is continuing to try and find ways to extort a financial windfall from our family,” Vanessa shared. “For nearly two decades, we arranged for my mother to live in our nearby properties, at no cost to her because she had claimed that she didn’t have any money to buy her own home after her divorce.”
Things have been quiet about the lawsuit until now. According to TMZ, the suit is now complete as the parties have settled. The report doesn’t reveal the terms or amount of the settlement, but it did confirm that it’s over. Vanessa hasn’t spoken about the lawsuit on Instagram, but she did share some cute photos and videos with her youngest daughter Capri at Ristorante Aurora Capri earlier today.
We’ll keep you updated if she happens to address the latest update!
