Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty has been sentenced to five years and three months in federal prison.
According to Rolling Stone, U.S. District Judge Kevin Michael Moore sentenced the 21-year-old received a 63 month sentencing after pleading guilty to a firearms conspiracy charge that was connected to a shooting in Orlando that caused a man to be shot in the buttocks.
Defense lawyer Bradford Cohen told Rolling Stone:
Listen, nobody’s happy to go to prison, but he was happy the judge listened to our argument, and the judge received the argument well. He was satisfied with the outcome.
We’re happy with the decision of the court.
It’s also reported that the judge gave Pooh Shiesty time served, which means he can be out within three years with good behavior.
As previously reported, Shiesty pled guilty to only a single count of firearms conspiracy in January. As you know, Pooh Shiesty is being accused of driving a rented McLaren to the Landon Hotel and firing off shots with a Draco subcompact weapon. One of the bullets hit the alleged victim in the buttocks, according to investigators.
Authorities also claimed a Louis Vuitton back with $40,000 cash feel out of the driver’s seat of the McLaren. Investigators stated they linked the money back to Shiesty by matching the serial number on one of the bills to a $100 he posted on his Instagram account just days before the incident.
