“Flavor of Love” star Deelishis is grieving the loss of her niece after the student was among three victims that had been shot dead in Monday night’s tragic mass shooting incident at Michigan State University.
The reality star’s niece, Arielle Diamond, was reportedly in the classroom in the same building as the shooter, identified as 43-year-old Anthony McRae, who killed himself following the fatal shootings.
Deelishis, whose real name is Chandra Davis, first took to Instagram on Monday to ask the public’s help in finding her niece, who she said went missing after the shooting.
“My beautiful niece @ariellediamond_ is a student at MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY… she was in her classroom in the same building as the active shooter and we have not heard from her,” she captioned an image of Arielle on Instagram.
She went on to say “if you know her whereabouts please dm me … in the meantime my family and I ask for your prayers 🙏🏼❤️.”
She eventually pinned a comment from a family member, who confirmed the tragic news that Arielle had been shot and killed by McRae.
“My sweet beautiful niece…RIP baby girl,” the pinned message read.
Deelishis’s close friends took to the comment section of her post to send their condolences.
“I am praying for you and your family. I am so sorry that you and your family have to experience the gut wrenching hurt from this tragic loss. RIP baby girl 🕊️🙏🏾,” wrote “Basketball Wives” star Brooke Bailey.
Another “Basketball Wives” star, Brandi Maxiell, also commented on Deelishis’ heartbreaking Instagram post.
“🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 praying for you hard mama,” commented “Basketball Wives” star Brandi Maxiell.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Sheree Whitfield and “Love and Hip Hop’s” Karlie Redd similarly offered their condolences upon learning of the tragic news.
Arielle and two other students were shot and killed Monday night, with another five other victims left in critical condition, after McRae opened fire in two separate buildings on the campus of Michigan State University, The Shade Room reported.
The other two students that were killed have been identified as Brian Fraser and Alexandria Verner.
The deadly mass shooting prompted a massive hours-long manhunt, forcing terrified students to hide in the dark, according to the Associated Press.
Police said that McRae was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, however authorities still don’t know his motive behind the mass shooting.
“We have absolutely no idea what the motive was at this point,” MSU Police Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman said early Tuesday, adding that the gunman “had no affiliation to the university — he was not a student, faculty or staff, current or previous.”
Rozman went on to say, “I know everybody wants to know what the motive is. We don’t have an answer right now, that’s the honest truth.”
He provided little details on the gunman, but did confirm that the man was not a student or employee and had no affiliation with the university.
Following the recent senseless tragedy, a young woman who identified herself as J Matt on TikTok claims to have survived both the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut back in 2012 as well as Monday’s fatal shooting at MSU, according to Revolt.
“So the reason I’m making this video right now is because it is almost 1 a.m. and I am currently directly across the street from where the shootings at Michigan State occurred,” she began. After pausing to take a deep breath, she shared more of her story: “I am 21 years old and this is the second mass shooting that I have now lived through. Ten years and two months ago, I survived the Sandy Hook shooting, and when I was crouched in the corner, in school, in Newtown, Connecticut, on 12/14/12, I was hunched in the corner with my classmates for so long that I actually got a PTSD fracture in my L4 and L5. In my right lower back.”
Roomies, please keep Deelishis in your prayers as she navigates through this extremely difficult time.
