Police officers say that the person responsible for the deadly shooting that took place in North Carolina on Thursday is a 15-year-old in critical condition.
Officers say that they recovered a hand gun and a “long gun,” after the shooting, leaving five dead and two injured.
A source with direct knowledge of the situation tells CNN that the suspect had a camouflage bookbag and wore camouflage clothing at the time of the crime.
President Biden spoke about the incident and stated:
We’ve grieved and prayed with too many families who have had to bear the terrible burden of these mass shootings.
The President added:
We must pass an assault weapons ban. The American people support this commonsense action to get weapons of war off our streets.
Officers have yet to provide a motive but did say police apprehended the suspect after a standoff.
The victims are Nicole Conners, 52; Sue Karnatz, 49; Mary Marshall, 35; James Roger Thompson, 16; and Gabriel Torres, 29, the off-duty police officer on his way to work.
