Just days after Dr. David Dao’s lawyer and daughter made a public statement about David’s current condition following his United Airlines attack, the airline shares an updated overbooking policy.
As a result of their old policy, David has reportedly suffered a concussion, lost two teeth, and will need to undergo reconstructive surgery for his broken nose. Hopefully this new policy will ensure future passengers’ safety.
According to documents obtained by TMZ,
“A passenger cannot be removed to accommodate a United crew member unless it’s essential for the crew member to make the flight in order to work another flight, AND the crew member arrives at least 60 minutes before the doors close.”
That change is effective immediately.
So basically if a crew member wants a seat, they have to be front and center no less than 60 minutes before the door closes–if not, they’ll have to catch a later flight.
A Senior VP of In-Flight Service claims in an email that “the world saw us in a bad moment.” And says that “No one should ever be mistreated this way.”
What are your thoughts about the policy changes, Roommates?!
