An Airbnb owner wants Tyrese Gibson to hand over $25,000 for what they say was “excessive altercations” to their property.
Tiffanique Webb reportedly said she gave Tyrese several months to repair her home, per TMZ. But Tyrese allegedly didn’t do so. Instead, the R&B singer reportedly stopped returning emails, texts, and phone calls. In response, Webb filed the lawsuit.
According to Webb’s property manager, Tracy Wolf, Tyrese was supposed to be in the home for six months. He signed the lease on the five-bedroom home at a rate of $20,000 per month. The contract for the Woodland Hills property started in February.
Lawsuit Describes “Damages” To Airbnb
Wolf alleges Tyrese began renovating the property soon after the start of his stay. The owners had reportedly asked him not to make changes without written permission. Despite several warnings, he allegedly hired contractors to make changes “on a whim,” per TMZ.
Wolf says Gibson made permanent changes to the Airbnb home despite assuring them it was temporary. He allegedly asked the property gardener to remove 22 banana trees. After he denied the task, Tyrese tried to hire an external company, but property management intervened.
The artist also reportedly had a construction crew drill holes in the home’s iron gate and brand-new exterior.
Inside the home, he reportedly painted a marble fireplace in a gold metallic color. The suit adds that he altered electrical panels and added outlets that aren’t to code. He also reportedly damaged the HVAC units and closed off doors and windows.
Tyrese Denies Lawsuit Allegations
Meanwhile, Tyrese says all the changes he made were temporary with his and his daughters’ safety in mind. In a video obtained by TMZ, he shows the inside of the property with doors covered by wooden boards.
The outlet reportedly reached out to Tyrese for comment but didn’t receive word back.
