Tyrese is speaking out after his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, denied his claims of her only marrying him for his money. As The Shade Room previously reported, the singer has publicly shared that he believes his previous marriage to Lee was just a “love transaction” on her part.
Additionally, it’s important to note that the ex-couple’s divorce proceedings remain ongoing since their split in 2020, as per Entertainment Tonight. However, the singer is currently paying Lee $20,000 monthly child support for their daughter.
On Tuesday, the singer took to social media to share a video clip of Lee speaking on Instagram Live. In the clip, Lee explained that Tyrese’s claims about her only wanting “money” from their marriage didn’t “make any sense.”
“What you cannot say and what I cannot allow to be said is that — that doesn’t make any logical sense. If it was about money, I would have just stayed where I was at,” Lee said. “Clearly, I had access to everything that I wanted if — that doesn’t make any logical sense.”
Lee continued by saying that she “wouldn’t leave it to go work multiple jobs.”
“And people know I make us a good amount of money,” she continued, seemingly referring to her past relationship with Tyrese. “Why would I do that for money? No. I love this person, and there were just certain things that just didn’t work out…”
She then explained that those “certain things” are “not for the world to know.”
“…That’s for me and him to know, and I hate that our business is out on the media sites. I hate that because it’s a family — it’s a family that’s broken apart. It’s not entertainment, and unfortunately, it’s become entertainment, and I don’t like it because it was somebody I love…”
However, Tyrese did not appear to believe Lee’s sentiments. From there, he reposted the video clip of her speaking on Instagram Live to his Instagram account. Additionally, he blasted Lee for her comments, labeling them as “gaslighting.”
“I have NO CLUE who this person is…… #Gaslighting is the most vile form of manipulation she’s out trying to sell people on s**t that nobody is sold on,” the singer wrote.
Then, the 44-year-old posed a question to Lee, asking if she really hates that their business is public.
“How can you hate what’s out there in the media and blogs when YOU all this f**k s**t out there…. Gold digger, Gaslighter, narcissist, manipulator…”
The singer then accused Lee of falsely informing “media sites” that he previously kicked her and their daughter of his home, changed the locks, and “cut off the credit cards.”
“You put those LIES in court documents that leaked to the press and media? That’s what ended up on this Media sites…”
Tyrese then alleged that Lee earns over $150,000 annually, which should be enough to cover her expenses. Additionally, he accused Lee of dragging out their divorce and then asked her to admit that she “never loved” him.
“Nobody is sold on what you’re selling , nobody… I came into this marriage with my HEART you came into it with your HAND…. and your hand is still out…”
Before concluding, Tyrese added that one of Lee’s friends allegedly informed him that his ex-wife is “enjoying” all the media attention regarding their divorce and child support battle.
It’s important to note that as of Tuesday afternoon, Tyrese’s repost of Lee’s Instagram Live clip appears to be deleted from his Instagram profile. Furthermore, Samantha Lee has yet to address the singer’s now-deleted post publicly. However, she has shared a post on her Instagram Story with a brief caption that reads, “WORDS TO LIVE BY.”
