Tyler Perry has a lot to celebrate as he continues to reach a new level of achievement. Earlier this month, he received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Right after that, he had all of Black Hollywood flock to Atlanta for the opening of his new Tyler Perry Studios, and now he is looking forward to the premiere of his new television shows on BET.
On Monday, Tyler was the celebrity guest on the hit talk show “The Real,” and he talked with the ladies about all of the exciting things he has going on at the moment, and also promoted his upcoming projects.
During his interview, he was asked about his son Aman, who is actually turning 5-years-old in November. The ladies were curious to know if his son was aware of who he was, and the magnitude of his success and whether he thought his son would want to become an actor.
Tyler responded and said, “I’m encouraging him to be who he is. I want him to be who he is. He is so creative, he loves music, he loves to play, but he just loves me, and the thing about it is, he doesn’t care.”
He continued, “He centers everything, he makes everything stop for me. I literally stop wit him.”
Tyler then went into describing a time he had to discipline his son, and he described the moment as being hard for him. He talked about how his son was being rude to his nanny, and he had to get eye level with him to tell him his behavior was unacceptable.
Tyler said the moment was hard because no one was around to correct his wrongs when he was a 5-year-old boy. “Here I am having the opportunity to heal my little boy self by talking to my son like a person,” he said.
