Tyler Perry has shown us that he is definitely a busy man as he continues to create and produce multiple shows and films. Now he has yet more added to his plate, including a revival of one of his classic shows.
According to Deadline, Tyler Perry confirmed the revival of his show “House of Payne.” However, this time around the show will be returning on BET. The show ran on TBS from 2007-2012. Nonetheless, re-run episodes have been airing on BET.
LaVan Davis, Cassi Davis Patton, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, China Anne McClain, Larramie “Doc” Shaw, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Allen Payne are all set to return, and the show is scheduled to make its return on BET this summer.
Lance Gross shared a photo from the table read on social media on Wednesday and said, “Today’s Work, Work, Work.”
In 2017, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) ordered the spinoff series “The Paynes,” with the show’s original characters reprising their roles, as they introduced new characters as well.
The “House of Payne” revival will pick up five years later and will showcase “retired fire chief Curtis Payne (LaVan Davis) and his lovely wife Ella (Cassi Davis Patton) as they continue to navigate the problems of life with their quirky modern-day family.”
Also on the BET, Tyler Perry will introduce a new show called “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living,” which will star David and Tamela Mann.
Tyler Perry currently has his shows “The Oval,” and “Sistas” airing on BET.
