Everyone prepare for two new Tyler Perry films to come in the near future.
According to Variety, Tyler Perry and Lionsgate have teamed up to do two more films. One of those films will be centered around his famed character Madea, which we’ve all grown to love throughout the years.
The announcement of the continued partnership comes after the success of his latest film, “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” which made over $50 million at the box office.
The entertainment company and Perry have worked together on a total of 20 films, which include, “Madea’s Witness Protection,” “Madea Goes to Jail,” and “Alex Cross.”
The details for the second upcoming Tyler Perry film has not been revealed, but the Lionsgate chief executive Jon Feltheimer made the announcement following the company’s quarterly earnings release.
Tyler Perry’s first film, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” based off of his stage play, released back in 2005. The film starred Perry himself, along with Kimberly Elise, Shemar Moore, Cicely Tyson, Tiffany Evans a many others.
