Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is the real MVP! He just announced that Twitter employees can continue to work-from-home, indefinitely.
According to @nbcnews, a company spokesperson stated, “Opening offices will be our decision,” the spokesperson said. “When and if our employees come back, will be theirs.”
In an email sent to the staff, Dorsey reportedly stated that Twitter offices would not open until September 2020, and in-person events have been canceled for the rest of the year.
“The past few months have proven we can make that work,” she said. “So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return.”
This comes amid states across the country slowly reopening, and companies try to adjust to social distancing rules.
Other tech companies like Facebook and Google have also made working-from-home easier on their employees, according to NBC.
Google Chief, Sundar Pichai, stated in a May 8th memo that most employees will be required to stay home. This may very well be until the end of 2020, he said, “Though there will be moments or occasions where you are able to come into the office,” according to reports.
Facebook also stated last week their offices will open the Monday after July 4th. Employees who can work-from-home will be able to do so until the end of year.
Good to know that these companies are prioritizing the needs and safety of their employees.
No traffic, no worrying about dropping off the kids or running late. This is truly a blessing!
