#Roommates, a #DallasCounty jury just found former #BalchSprings police officer #RoyOliver guilty in the shooting death of 15-year-old #JordanEdwards.
After 12 hours of deliberation, the jury announced the guilty verdict this afternoon charging Oliver with murder and four counts of aggravated assault by a public servant for the April 2017 slaying, according to @dallasnews. Oliver fired multiple shots in a car, striking and killing Jordan.
If you don’t remember, Oliver and his partner were responding to a house party when they heard shots that actually came down the street from a nursing home. Oliver ran outside to grab his rifle while at the same time the car Jordan was riding in was trying to leave the party.
Oliver fired shots into the car as the boys drove off, claiming he thought the driver was trying to hit his partner. Jordan later died at a hospital.
There were no immediate reports of when Oliver’s sentencing trial will be held. We’ll keep you updated on this story, #Roommates.
