Roommates, we previously reported that Dr. Dre and his estranged wife, Nicole Young’s, record company was alleging that Nicole had embezzled funds from the business, and it looks like the authorities have launched an official investigation!
According to TMZ, Dre’s business partner, Larry Chatman, recently reported Nicole to the police, alleging she withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars from their business account without authorization. If y’all recall from our previous report, Larry sent Nicole a letter stating that he would not go to the authorities if she returned every dollar she allegedly stole, and apparently, that hasn’t happened.
In the report to the LAPD, Dre’s team alleges Nicole embezzled $385,029 from their record company. LAPD detectives are reportedly conducting an investigation to find the missing cash.
Nicole’s legal team says that the embezzlement allegation is just a PR stunt and smear campaign against her as she and Dre go through with this divorce.
Dre and Nicole’s divorce proceedings have been pretty messy from the start, with Nicole requesting large amounts of money in her settlement for various expenses. Dr. Dre, however, got his first W in the battle, as a judge ruled that he would not have to pay Nicole the $1.5 million she was seeking.
As we previously reported, Nicole reportedly requested $1.5 million for security, claiming that she has been receiving death threats. Unfortunately for her, the judge has rejected her request because she reportedly fired the security team that Dr. Dre was already paying for.
Hopefully Dre and Nicole can get to an amicable settlement in this whole thing, but we’ll keep y’all updated, Roomies!
