#TSRUpdatez: The Dallas police officer who fatally shot a black man in his own apartment last week has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
According to NPR News, 30-year-old Amber Guyger had just finished a shift on duty and claimed that she thought she entered her own apartment in the same building. Sadly, 26-year-old Botham Jean lost his life that night and Guyger called in to report the shooting moments after it happened.
Officials told Dallas Morning News that Guyger was new to the building and she had mistakenly parked on the wrong floor. Jean left his front door unlocked and when Guyger saw him, she allegedly thought he was a burglar and shot twice.
She was reportedly seen outside of the apartment building crying after the incident took place.
