I’m sure none of us will be opposed to this new mandatory federal regulation! All new cars in the U.S. are now required to have… backup cameras! (????️ Now there should be no excuses why people can’t parallel park! ????????)
According to USA Today, the regulation went into effect Wednesday. It now requires all new cars to have rearview cameras and video displays in their new models.
“The regulation is a monumental advancement of safety for children, pedestrians, bicyclists and other vulnerable road users,” Cathy Chase, president of Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, said in a statement.
Safety advocates say the regulation will help prevent accidents. Backover crashes kill about 200 people a year and injure more than 12,000.
