It looks like LeBron James will be sitting out for the rest of the Lakers season as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
According to ESPN, on Saturday, the Lakers officially announced that LeBron will be held out of the last six games of the season as he continues to the recovery of his strained groin.
Lakers president Magic Johnson and General Manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement, “After consulting with our team doctors and medical staff, we have decided to hold LeBron out of games for the remainder of the season. This decision will allow his groin to fully heal, and is best for the future success of both LeBron and the Lakers.”
The Lakers have failed to qualify for the playoffs for the sixth straight season, which breaks LeBron’s personal streaks of 13 straight playoff appearances. Nonetheless, he finished the season averaging 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games.
Back on Christmas Day, LBJ suffered a slight tear to his left groin, which caused him to miss 17 games straight.
We wish LeBron a speedy and healthy recovery.
