#TSRPositiveImages: Vic Mensa is taking action and giving back to his community in a major way! He recently announced online that he’s launching a sneaker giveaway. This news comes after police in Chicago planted bait trucks filled with Nike and Christian Louboutin shoes in an operation to attract potential thieves.
As we previously reported, the trucks, which were parked in the mostly black neighborhood of Englewood, were a part of a surveillance operation by Norfolk Southern Police. Many residents argued that the tactic created an unfair situation of entrapment, and police later apologized.
Well, Vic has officially taken matters into his own hands in hopes of genuinely helping those in need. “Last week Chicago Police escorted a ‘bait-truck’ full of shoes through the South Side of Chicago to lure poor people with FREE NIKES,” he tweeted. “So we’re filling a truck with shoes to give away to those who need it.”
He also shared an Amazon link for those who want to support by buying a pair of shoes for the youth in Chicago. You can check it out here!
