Travis Scott is starting off the year on a high note by giving back to his community in Houston.
According to the Houston Chronicle, earlier this week he donated $100,000 to the nonprofit after-school program Workshop Houston.
The program, which is located in the Third Ward, participated in Travis’ Astroworld Festival along with other several nonprofits. There he was able to learn about their arts and education programs, which eventually led to his donation.
According to Workshop Houston, some of the money donated by Travis will go to different programs. One includes local students recreating Forever First Lady Michelle Obama’s Milly gown, which was portrayed in her official White House portrait.
Workshop Houston will also host a drone-racing contest where the entries will be created by local student teams.
Back in November, Travis was honored in Houston with his very own day, “Astroworld Day.” The day was officially recognized following his inaugural Astroworld Festival.
It’s great to see Travis Scott continue to give back to his community in a major way!
