Rihanna is paying it forward y’all. The singer’s foundation, the Clara Lionel Foundation, is making efforts to improve education by bringing scholarships and bikes to the impoverished southeastern Africa country of Malawi after a recent visit.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the singer’s foundation will collaborate with the bike share platform Ofo to provide scholarships and donate bikes, which will help ease the stress of transportation many students face going to and from school.
Rihanna is beyond ecstatic to help the children of Malawi have access to better resources and improve their education. “I’m so happy about the Clara Lionel Foundation’s new partnership with Ofo because it will help so many young people around the world receive a quality education, and also help the young girls of Malawi get to school safely, cutting down those very long walks they make to and from school all alone,” Rihanna said in a press release.
During the singer’s short visit to Malawi back in January, the 29-year old met with educators, government officials and students as Ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education.
Way to go, Riri!
