#Roommates, Michael Jordan is digging in his deep wallet to make sure at-risk areas in Charlotte, North Carolina get the medical treatment it needs.
It seems the NBA Hall of Famer teamed up with Novant Health to open two family clinics. According to Charlotte Weekly, the clinics will “provide access to primary and preventive care to people in the community with little or no health care.”
In a statement, MJ confirms his partnership and says: “I am proud to partner with Novant Health to bring critical health services to underserved areas of Charlotte and the thousands of North Carolinians with limited access to health care.” He added: “Through my years of working with Novant Health, I have been impressed with their approach and their commitment to the community. It is my hope that these clinics will help provide a brighter and healthier future for the children and families they serve.”
The clinics will be in areas identified by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Opportunity Das Force as the most at-risk areas for generational poverty. It is said the clinics have potential to decrease emergency utilization by at least 68 percent.
Hopefully seeing MJ’s grand gesture helps spark more actions like this in our communities #Roommates!
