#TSRPositiveImages: Marsai Martin Becomes The Youngest Black Executive Producer In Hollywood History

Yesterday, the official trailer for the new film “Little” starring Marsai Martin, Issa Rae, and Regina Hall released. The trailer was met with excitement, making its spring release highly anticipated.

According to Vibe, 14-year-old Marsai Martin will hold the title as the youngest black executive producer in Hollywood history when the film hits theatres in April.

Marsai said the film was inspired by the 1988 film “Big,” which she saw when she was 10-years-old. She said, “It was one of my most favorite films growing up. After the Season 1 finale of ‘Black-ish,’ we told Kenya Barris about it, and he called Will [Packer] and said: ‘Yo, you know the girl who plays Diane on Black-ish? She has this dope idea!’”

For a short amount of time, Marsai will hold the title of the youngest executive producer in Hollywood history in general. 14-year-old “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby is producing and starring in a film about Sherlock Holmes’ sister, which is scheduled to release later this year. So when her film drops, they will both be the youngest executive producers in Hollywood.

Regardless, we are excited to see young stars out here making boss moves.
