A few weeks ago Nicki Minaj announced on Queen Radio that she would be personally gifting former ‘Cosby Show’ actor #GeoffreyOwens with $25,000, after a photo of him working at a local Trader Joe’s went viral on social media. Nicki wasn’t here for the two women who snapped the picture of Jeffrey and wanted to do a little something to help him out.
According to TMZ, Nicki’s team reached out to Jeffrey’s camp and sent the check over. Geoffrey decided to donate the hefty sum to a cause that means so much to him.
Geoffrey told the site, “I would like to give this donation of 25k to the Actor’s Fund in memory of the late, great Earle Hyman — who played Cosby’s father, ‘Russell’, on “The Cosby Show” — who lived his last many years and died at the Actors’ Home, (funded and run by the Actor’s Fund). I am extremely grateful to Nicki Minaj for enabling struggling actors to continue pursuing their dreams.”
Nicki is cool with Geoffrey choosing to donate the funds.
“I’m happy to be a part of a great cause. I wish Geoffrey much success and want him to know how loved he is. Rest in Peace to Earle Hyman.”
Blessings have been pouring in for Geoffrey since the photos dropped. He landed a role on Tyler Perry’s “Haves and the Have Nots.”
