I love a good love story, #Roommates, and this one sprouted from an #HBCU! Cornell and Vanity Jones have a lot of HBCU pride as alumni of #WinstonSalemStateUniversity. When they were in school, they were Mr. and Mrs. WSSU, but the gag is they didn’t start dating until after graduating.
They pursued a long-distance relationship in 2014, with Vanity in North Carolina and Cornell in Connecticut. The two tied the knot over the weekend and rang in their nuptials HBCU style with WSSU’s #RedSeaOfSound introducing the wedding party.
“Through family support, TONS of time at the airport, and trips planned my best friend…we made it,” Cornell said. “Our hashtag for the wedding, #DistanceDefeated, represents the 694 miles that love conquered.” SLIDE to see their love journey! #BlackLove
