Yesterday, we reported that Mark Cuban linked up with Delonte West in hopes of helping him. Today, it is being reported that he has officially checked into rehab, according to TMZ.
“Delonte West … he entered a rehab facility late Monday night, Mark Cuban tells us — and by Tuesday morning, he already started his programs at the facility. Once Mark Cuban located West, the Mavs owner met with Delonte’s mom at a nearby hotel and together they convinced him to get treatment, according to Shams Charania. Now, the hard work begins … and everyone close to West is hoping Delonte can finally get on the road to recovery.”
It’s also reported that Delonte is at a rehabilitation center located in Florida, and Mark Cuban was willing to pay for his treatment.
“Sources say Mavs owner Mark Cuban reunited West with his mother in Dallas on Monday — and now West has checked into rehab facility in Florida,” NBA Analyst Shams Charania tweeted.
As previously mentioned, last week, another photo of Delonte West resurfaced. The former NBA player was seen on the street holding a sign in Dallas, TX. It looks like businessman and Dallas Maverick owner, Mark Cuban is helping West get back on his feet. In a video obtained by @tmz, Mark and Delonte were seen together at a convenience store.
If you recall, earlier this year, former teammates and coaches expressed their concern for former NBA player Delonte West as a viral video showed him in need of help.
Multiple sources have reportedly told the site that the NBA, his former coach Doc Rivers, his former college teammate Jameer Nelson, and the National Basketball Players Association have all reportedly been trying to lend a helping hand.
Delonte played with the Mavericks in the 2011-2012 NBA season. May the former basketball player receive the help that he needs.
