TSR Reactionz: Missy Elliott lit up the stage and our TVs Monday night with her Video Vanguard performance at MTV’s 2019 Video Music Awards.
Missy’s performance prior to receiving the iconic award, which many feel was long overdue, was certainly the highlight of the night for a lot of us watching.
Social media of course chimed in on Missy’s performance and speech, with many pleased about her delivery.
She gave us the bubble suit and she brought out Alyson Stoner, a former child star who was famous for dancing in several of Missy’s videos including “Work it” and “Gossip Folks.”
People loved how Missy showed appreciation for both the late Aaliyah and Michael Jackson. But social media users were also a bit confused as to why someone who wasn’t closer to her, such as Timbaland or Ciara, didn’t present her with her moon man.
There were lots of emotions, but I think overall, Missy met a lot of people’s expectations and took people back to an era of when she reigned supreme. Check out the reactions below and let us know your thoughts on Missy’s epic night!
