TSR Positive Images: I want to talk about a young Black king who saw an opportunity to do some good. It seems like everyone’s complaining about these long lines at Popeyes, either because they’re trying to get their hands on that new chicken sandwich or they feel the lines themselves are a distraction from the real issues.
But 17-year-old David Ledbetter isn’t about complaining, he’s about action. The aspiring politician saw the long lines at Popeyes as an opportunity to make real change in his community of Charlotte. On Saturday, he proudly registered 16 people to vote at Popeyes. Even though he’s not of the legal age to vote, he wanted to push for others to get involved in local politics.
“I believe that it is our duty to vote as American citizens and it would be wrong not to exercise our political voice,” David said.
We applaud David for taking the negativity surrounding Popeyes and turning it into something positive.
