There isn’t anything more fulfilling than celebs paying it forward, especially in a time where so many people are in need. Well, #50Cent is one of the latest celebrities to do a good deed! 50 has reportedly let go of his Connecticut mansion and will be donating the money to charity.
According to @tmz_tv, 50 has had the mega-mansion on the market for some time now with no luck in finding a buyer. 50 originally bought the property from #MikeTyson back in 2007 for a whopping $18.5 million.
At approximately 50,000 square feet, housing 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, 9 kitchens an outdoor and an indoor pool, helicopter pad, casino, nightclub, basketball courts and a pond, the mansion has been named the largest home in Farmington, CT.
The estate was reportedly costing 50 about $70,000 per month including property taxes and mortgage payments. He managed to hold onto the house despite going bankrupt back in 2015.
The property was first listed by various agencies and reportedly experienced multiple price mark-downs before being sold recently. Most recently it was listed for $4.995 million according to Zillow, and had also been listed for rent at $100,000 a month.
But y’all know 50 cannot take any situation seriously. After having the house on the market for so long, 50 experienced an attempted burglary at the mansion back in 2017, and said he forgot he even had the property!
“What my house got robbed, I thought I sold that MF, LOL,” he wrote on Instagram.
He also appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert in January, and expressed how hard it was for him to own such a large home.
“You know when you look down the hallway in your house and you don’t wanna go down there?” he said. “Things would break because you didn’t use them. You didn’t turn it on, now the light is flickering.”
Now, 50 plans donate all of the money to his G-Unity Foundation, which provides grants to nonprofit organizations that focus on improving the quality of life in poverty-stricken areas.
