McDonald’s is in the holiday spirit this year. The fast food giant is giving away free food to customers.
According to CNN, starting Monday through Christmas Eve, McDonald’s will give away fictional Christmas characters’ favorite foods. But, of course, there’s one catch. Customers must make a purchase of at least $1 and place the order through the McDonald’s app.
Each day there will be a different menu for customers to choose from, starting with a double cheeseburger in honor of the Griswold family from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
McDonald’s is also giving away the McDouble for John McClane from “Die Hard,” medium fries for Rudolph, coffee for Scrooge and a McCafe item for Frank Costanza from “Seinfeld,” according to CNN.
If you’re a lover of the chocolate chip cookies, McDonald’s is giving those away for free on Christmas Eve, and you don’t have to make a minimum purchase for those.
McDonald’s is not new to successful food promotions. Most recently, Travis Scott partnered with the food giant for the ‘Cactus Jack Meal.’
Fans were so excited that Travis and a McDonald’s location in Downey, California were cited by the city, after over 200 fans showed up to try the new Cactus Jack meal. According to TMZ, documents reveal that Travis didn’t have a permit for that large of a crowd.
TMZ reported that there were no injuries for arrests reported from the scene, and the fine was $200.
As for the McDonald’s deal, it is reported that Travis Scott bagged $20 million with his McDonald’s partnership. Of that $20 million, it is stated $5 million came from the standard endorsement contract and $15 million came from merchandise. It’s also reported that Travis negotiated his way right into those coins, as he gained full rights and developed ideas for the merchandise, according to Forbes.
Looks like McDonald’s has it all figured out!
