The two brands are expanding their partnership after a local test proved to be successful. Krispy Kreme doughnuts were sold at 160 McDonald’s restaurants in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. The sweet treats will appear under more Golden Arches later this year and will be in restaurants nationwide by the close of 2026.
Will The Donuts Still Be Krispy Kreme Fresh?
The melt-in-your-mouth pastries will be delivered daily to preserve the taste and freshness Krispy Kreme customers love. Three of the most popular flavors will be available: the chocolate iced doughnut with sprinkles, the original glazed doughnut, and the chocolate iced kreme-filled doughnut.
Patrons can purchase a single doughnut or boxes of six beginning at breakfast. The frosting-covered yeast will be available for purchase throughout the day until they sell out.
McDonald’s prides itself on releasing new food items that keep their customers loyal and happy.
The Companies’ Leaders Share Their Thoughts
Tariq Hassan, Mickey Dee’s USA CMO stated, “Since the launch of breakfast nearly 50 years ago, we’ve continued to offer new menu items, flavors, and experiences that have made McDonald’s an irreplaceable part of fans’ morning routines.”
The Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth stated, “The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is ‘Please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”
Charlesworth wanted to make it easier for customers to access Krispy Kreme treats. The partnership with McDonald’s allowed them to do just that.
He continued, “Significantly, by making Krispy Kreme accessible to fans nationwide through this partnership, we expect to more than double our points of access by the end of 2026.”
“The partnership accelerates the development of our existing Delivered Fresh Daily channel, creating operating leverage through distribution density and production utilization,” Charlesworth stated.
