Roommates, now that the official inauguration ceremony has come to an end, we had to do a little recap of the fashionable moments that were served during the historical moment. Now the men definitely showed up in their presidential best, however it was the ladies who truly set the inauguration off…especially our forever First Lady Michelle Obama.
Y’all already know that staying true to the fashionable woman she is, Michelle Obama came through drippin’ with a presidential slay that served! However, she was in good company thanks to Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Dr. Jill Biden and our new Madam Vice President Kamala Harris.
Michelle Obama perfectly demonstrated how to be fashionable and still dress appropriately for cold weather. Arriving at Joe Biden’s inauguration, she wore a head-to-toe monochrome look in shades of burgundy and plum by Black designer Sergio Hudson, who is a longtime collaborator of the former First Lady. Michelle accessorized the fierce look with a voluminous blowout of bouncy, silky curls, leather gloves, Stuart Weitzman boots, and a silk face mask.
Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden were wearing Ralph Lauren, while Madam Vice-President Kamala Harris, who has been wearing exclusively Black designers for all of her inauguration events including Pyer Moss, wore a full look for her big inauguration day by Christopher John Rogers. Later in the evening, she changed into an ensemble, also by Sergio Hudson.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga also didn’t disappoint, opting for a look that was purposely more theatrical than the rest of the ladies. She wore a custom Schiaparelli haute couture design—a fitted navy cashmere jacket that gave way to a voluminous washed red silk faille skirt.
Jennifer Lopez also stuck to the high-end designer theme and wore custom Chanel.
