Keyshia Cole hopped on live tonight to apologize to all of her fans for keeping them waiting during the Verzuz battle just a few nights ago. She explained that there were some technical difficulties that needed to be solved before she sat in front of that mic to ensure her fans got the show they deserved.
Despite all of that, Keyshia and Ashanti definitely gave y’all a battle to talk about, and Keyshia stopped by The Shade Room to give us the deets about some other things happening behind the scenes, including squashing her beef with OT Genasis and unfortunately, testing positive for COVID.
Shortly after the battle, Keyshia’s sister took to the ‘gram to express that she wasn’t feeling OT’s appearance after what was said about their mother. Well, Keyshia let us know that she’s only focused on positivity and moving forward this year.
“OT apologized to me more than once,” Keyshia said. “A lot of things were said about his character, and things just went way too far but we can’t focus on negative bull crap.”
Keyshia and OT’s lil cameo was definitely a topic of discussion, but more than anything, fans wanted to know why Keysh seemed so upset and, what type of technical difficulties were holding up the show.
Keyshia also revealed to us that she tested positive for COVID on January 13th, which prevented her from having any rehearsals with the Verzuz crew, which could explain the sound issues that were going on during the battle.
“I was feeling really fatigued and once I lost my sense of smell, I was like ‘damn I got COVID’,” Keyshia said.
Nevertheless, Keyshia said she is recovering well, and the state of her health had nothing to do with her performance on that night.
Now y’all know we’ve been waiting for some new music from Keyshia Cole for a cool minute now, and she let us know that her new single, I Don’t Wanna Be Love, will be released on February 5th!
