Over the summer Troy Ave was arrested after being caught on camera firing a weapon during a fatal shooting that took place at Irving Plaza in New York City.
After being released on $500,000 bail he has been under strict restrictions
According to DNA Info, Tory Ave’s lawyer, John Stella, said the Brooklyn rapper is “barely getting by” due to these restrictions set by the judge. He reportedly cannot go anywhere outside of the five boroughs in New York City, he cannot perform in nightclubs or other venues and he must obey an 11pm curfew.
Stella said, “Touring is what drives everything else, and it’s hard to release music if he can’t promote it with live performances.” Troy has had to cancel at least 50 performances since his arrest, missing out on thousands of dollars.
His lawyer has filed documents asking the judge to lighten up on his restrictions so he can start booking shows, and fulfilling his commitments to the shows that were already booked.
“Just like Rick Ross, Troy should be given the ability to work and provide for his family,” said Stella.
It will take about a month before they hear back from the judge.
