Tristan Thompson’s ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, has reportedly filed to sustain her $40,000 monthly child support payments from the NBA player. As The Shade Room previously reported, the former couple share a six-year-old son named Prince.
Additionally, Thompson also shares two children with Khloe Kardashian and one child with Maralee Nichols.
According to Daily Mail, Thompson has reportedly been satisfying his monthly $40,000 child support payments to Craig. However, on August 9, the outlet reports that Craig filed an “abstract of judgment” against Thompson.
The outlet adds that the filing was made in Los Angeles. Additionally, the filing is reportedly “used to create a public record” that even in the event of debt, Thompson’s child support payments to Craig must be satisfied.
According to Law.com, an abstract of judgment creates a “public record… lien or claim” on “any real estate owned or later acquired by the loser located in the county in which the abstract of judgment is recorded.”
Additionally, the resource website adds that if the judgment is not voluntarily satisfied, a forceful sale can be made of the losing party’s “property to collect.”
Furthermore, the website adds that a few issues can exist when filing an abstract of judgment. They include locating the proper county “where the loser owns real estate,” whether there are other “judgments that come ahead of the judgment lien,” and “the possibility that the loser/debtor may go bankrupt and avoid paying the debt.”
The outlet reports that Thompson’s original child support agreement with Craig was made in 2019. The basketball player has reportedly remained up to date with his payments. However, it’s speculated that Craig’s filing may be related to Thompson’s alleged dip in income since then.
According to the outlet, at the time of the original agreement, Thompson was making $17.7 million annually playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, his annual salary with the Los Angeles Lakers is now allegedly $9.2 million.
Additionally, the outlet adds that Thompson is paying “an estimated total” of $120,000 for all four of his children, whom he shared with the three women.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Thompson most recently welcomed his youngest son, Tatum, in August 2022. He shares the infant with his ex-girlfriend, Khloé Kardashian. Additionally, the former couple share a five-year-old daughter named True.
In December 2021, Thompson and Maralee Nichols welcomed a son named Theo, as reported by The Shade Room. After Nichols alleged that Thompson made no effort to meet the child or financially support his son a few months later, Thompson was ordered to pay Nichols $9,500 monthly child support in December 2022, as per The Shade Room.
According to PEOPLE, Thompson and Craig welcomed their son Prince on December 12, 2016. Daily Mail reports that the pair began dating in 2014 but split after about two years.
