Sang, baby! While Tristan Thompson is a professional basketball player by trade, homie just let us know he’s also an amateur singer!
The Boston Celtics baller gave fans a taste of his vocals Wednesday, singing a classic R&B song from the neo soul era.
Tristan was in the hot tub looking quite relaxed when he was filmed belting out the lyrics to Jaheim’s “Put That Woman First.”
The 2002 single, which samples William Bell’s “I Forgot to Be Your Lover,” focuses on the theme of not taking your woman for granted and showing her appreciation before it’s too late.
Tristan Thompson sang the song with his whole chest while sporting a big smile, fists clenched and all. Watch him sing below:
While Tristan appeared to have made the video in good fun, fans couldn’t pass up the opportunity to call out the irony in his song choice.
As you may know, Tristan has a track record of infidelities, most notoriously known for cheating on his daughter’s mother, Khloe Kardashian.
“Singing a song he can’t relate to,” one person commented.
“He the wrong one to be singing those lyrics,” another said.
Some of the jokes were a bit more specific to Tristan’s past situations.
“Until she hits that 3rd trimester, then he puts another woman first,” someone said, referring to Tristan stepping out on Khloe just days before she went into labor with their daughter.
Despite the jokes, it does seem that Tristan and Khloe are doing their best to work things out and parent True amicably.
Khloe was even able to joke about Tristan’s past infidelities as displayed in a recent season of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Khloe trolled Tristan while they communicated as she quarantined during the pandemic.
It’s good to see they are great sports about it.
