‘Boy Meets World’ actor Trina McGee is addressing the “negativity” she’s received since announcing her pregnancy.
On Tuesday, June 4, Entertainment Tonight published an exclusive interview with McGee. During the conversation, the actor revealed that she saw some disparaing comments online after announcing the news.
“I saw some comments about, uh, ‘She’s too old’… and I think I read about three comments of that and I was like, ‘Don’t read that,'” she explained.
However, McGee explained that she’s basking in the “sheer joy” of her major life change rather than the “negativity.”
“Just sheer joy, sheer joy, and I don’t partake inany of the negativity anybody has to say about it,” she said. “I am so happy. I have been blessed, and that’s it.”
Ultimately, McGee explained that “all” she’s concerned about is having her baby.
“And all I’m concerned about — I only have one job now — is to have this baby, and that’s what I’m about.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, McGee has been married to her husband, Marcello Thedford, for sixteen years. Her current pregnancy will be their first child together. However, she has three adult children from two previous relationships while Thedford fathers a son.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, McGee explained that she wanted to have a child with her husband for years. Additionally, McGee admitted that she even went “a year into menopause” before seemingly reversing the process and conceiving.
“So what I did was, I went down to Belize… and in that culture, they have studied medicines [and] medicinal herbs for centuries… I actually was able to come up with an elixir… and then I found out that I was happily pregnant and I couldn’t really believe it. But yes, it worked and it’s working for many women,” she explained.
In addition, McGee explained that she was able to reverse menopause and conceive by leading a healthy lifestyle.
As The Shade Room previously reported, McGee revealed her pregnancy earlier on Monday via a reel posted on Instagram. At the time, the actor requested prayers for a safe delivery and explained that she would be stepping away from social media.
“The number one thing for me is to not partake in any stress and stay away from negativity as much as I can,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Before concluding her conversation with the outlet, the mother shared fellow advice for others considering pregnancy at an older age.
“It’s an inidividual decision, but be realistic about it,” she explained. “Be realistic about your lifespan [and] make provisions. And understand when you do have a baby at this age, what you should have for them is a lot of wisdom…”
McGee explained that she’s not opposed to trying for another child with her husband after she gives birth.
