On Wednesday, Trina started to make headlines for comments she had made earlier in the week in relation to the protests that have been going on in response to the death of George Floyd. The comments were made on her radio show, and she expressed her frustration with the damage that had been done in the city of Miami as a result of the protests.
Thursday morning, Trina returned to her and Trick Daddy’s radio show on 99 Jamz Miami and issued an apology and explained the origins of her comments as she had no intention of offending anyone.
She said, “Me, in my Trina’s world, I’m automatically speaking for black people. I am black people, that’s who I’m speaking for, so I’m not gonna say ‘black people are animals.’ I’m not talking to the protestors or those that are trying to make change.”
She continued “This is why the day after we spoke to the commissioner, I said to Trick, ‘well I learned a lot more about what’s really happening’ because I’m trying to understand what’s the solution, what is the answer to everything that’s happening and it’s more than just in the streets where people doing whatever. It’s the commissioners, the governors, all these people, the chief of police, I had no idea of that. So now I’m understanding that, and these are the people that have to protect the cities.”

As we previously reported, many people were not feeling Trina’s original comments and they called her out on social media. The incident even led to Trina getting into an argument with reality star Masika Kalysha.
