On Monday, Travis Scott announced his latest collaboration with Nike, and it looks like the proceeds will be going to his organization “Project Heal,” which was first introduced back in March.
Travis shared the release of his TS Air Max 1 Wheat sneakers, which are also accompanied by a line of merch ranging from t-shirts to shorts, bags, hats, socks, belts, and even a bikini. TMZ reports that sources have shared that there were more than a million entries within the first 30 minutes of the drop. They also shared that Travis wanted to drop the sneakers and his merch through his website to make sure the proceeds go to “Project Heal.”
As previously reported, back in March Travis announced the launch of “Project Heal,” which is used to help benefit different initiatives. Some of those initiatives are scholarships for HBCU students, mental health resources, the expansion of the CACT.US Youth Design Center, and funding for the US Conference of Mayors Task Force of Event Safety.
As mentioned before, while launching “Project Heal,” Travis also made a $5 million donation toward the organization.
Although the sneakers have already sold out, there are still clothing items from Travis and Nike’s latest drop. Sources tell TMZ they believe this drop could accumulate millions of dollars in proceeds.
Travis is making positive changes in any way that he can. Earlier this month, it was shared that he granted one million dollars to students graduating this semester. Nearly 100 graduates from 38 HBCUs received a $10,000 scholarship as Travis helped them financially when it came to securing their college degrees.
